Happy Friday!
I'm so not sad to see this week go. I haven't had many rough weeks during my pregnancy, which I'm so thankful for, but this past week has been on the tougher side that's for sure. I'm having a hard time sleeping and I found out that my platelets (they help with clotting) count has dropped, so I have to get on steroids in hopes to get them up so that I'm able to get an epidural.

I was really hoping they didn't drop any more because the steroids can come with some pretty nasty side effects, but it is what it is and if I want that magic epidural I have to take them. I just keep thinking how close we are to meeting Cam and how good I've had it which seems to help! :)
But, on a really bright side, Billy and I are going out tomorrow for our last potential real date night out. His parents are coming into town next weekend and with Christmas after that, we weren't sure when else we could so he's taking me out for a fancy dinner and to go shopping (yep-real excited about that part!)
WATCHING -The Santa Clause and Four Christmases, like I've never seen them before. I have them stored on our DVR and can't stop watching them. They don't get old to me!
EATING - Oh, that's funny. A 36 week pregnant chic walked into Target and came out with....
Mmm mmm...good.
LISTENING TO - I heard Ed Sheeran's new song "Thinking Out Loud" while watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show the other night (who watched?!) and LOVED it. It is the only song of his that I actually really like.
MAKING- Does wrapping presents count?! All of our gifts are wrapped and under the tree. Enter HUGE sigh of relief!
(love this little face so much!)
top from Pink Blush, vest is from Old Navy last year (similar)
NEEDING - Caffeine. I can't wait to get that first non-decaffeinated drink from Starbucks!
WISHING - That my labor experience will be really easy and short...wouldn't that be nice if I could control that?! Who wouldn't want that!
FEELING - Tired since I've been up since 4am this morning (pregnancy insomnia is NO joke! combine that with feeling super uncomfortable and you've got a bad combination), but overall really happy that it's already mid December and we only have a few more weeks to go until we get to meet our baby!! And also excited to have another weekend of sleeping in and fun times with Billy! Soaking up these times while I can...
LOVING - All the Christmas decorations in our house! And that I've started stocking up on my favorite wine...Woo-Hoo!

Thinking Out Loud is probably the only Ed Sheeran song that I like too. I'm obsessed! :) He played it at the Jingle Ball in LA and ever since then I cannot stop listening to it. I hope you start feeling better. I know the tail end of pregnancy can cause for a lot of discomfort so I just hope you have some better days ahead.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to me girlfriend- I've got traffic like crazy today from you ;) Sorry things are getting uncomfortable for ya- I hope these last few weeks can be as easy and restful as possible. Enjoy your fun date night out this weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember getting up and going into work at 3:00 am because I couldn't sleep when I was pregnant. Sorry it's hitting you too girl. Loved that Ed Sheeran song at the VS fashion show! And Taylor looked so hot.
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your date night!
Thinking Out Loud is definitely one of my favourite songs! If I could go back in time and make it our first dance for our wedding I would, even though it wasn't actually a song then...
ReplyDeleteBest. Pants. Ever. It's summer here but today the high was 80 so I felt it was appropriate to bust them out. Also, I have that ON vest too and love it. Great minds think alike. Hope you have an easier week, you're so close!

I had low platelettes at the end of my pregnancy and ended up having HELLP syndrome and was induced early. Had to get the epidural before I was induced because they were worried they'd drop more after induced and then I wouldn't be able to get one. How often are they monitoring you? I had other symptoms but I was admitted to the hospital and had blood drawn every eight hours to make sure they could deliver quickly if things got bad. Hopefully things get better for you! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry my friend - I hope your count doesn't drop again and that you are feeling fit and well again. Not long now... x
ReplyDeleteI may have missed it, but was there a medical determining factor in going on steroids vs. not? It sounds like it is a catch 22, but you are so close. Hoping your labor is short and easy!
