This weekend I took an unintentional two day break from instagram. It was late Sunday night before I even realized that I hadn't taken very many pictures from my weekend, and to be honest, the break was nice. It's always good to step away for a bit, enjoy what life is really about (you know, without worrying about having to document things), then come back feeling refreshed. At least I think so. We had date night at one of our favorite restaurants, spent a lot of time outside Saturday going to our favorite park/trail to walk Rocky, and I got to spend time with my girlfriends. The only problem is that Monday came far too soon...story of our lives, right?
One thing I didn't take a break from was anything and everything SPRING related. Lately, I've been into branching out of my normal makeup routine and trying things that I've been wanting to for so long, but just hadn't done so yet. I've used bareMinerals foundation and bronzer for years (this kit in medium beige), and I think it's safe to say their blush is staying in my rotation. I love how natural looking it is and it lasts much longer than most blushes do! My best friend gifted me Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss (in Trail Blazer) for Christmas and I can say that it's worth every single penny. It's also nice to try different eyeshadow palette's for spring (rose gold compact? sign me up!) and add this gorgeous NARS illuminator to light up your skin. I'm all about light shades of pink, rose gold, and coral this spring!
Have you tried any of these? What is your favorite?

Make it a good Monday, everyone! :)
I'm a huge fan of Bobbi Brown's shimmer brick - one of my all time faves. I used to use an illuminator in college and then the brand I liked stopped making it - but I've been wanting to put one back in my rotation! Thanks for all the wonderful ideas!
ReplyDeleteThat Essie polish looks perfect for spring!
ReplyDeleteI love Benifit's cheek stains they are my recent favorite goodie from Christmas. I am in major need of a good lip gloss as the drugstore ones are just not cutting it. I will have to check out the Marvelous Moxie lip gloss!
ReplyDeleteI have the Lorac palette and it is my favorite (even more than the UD Naked)! It has the perfect pinks and browns.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of that Lorac palette! Great spring picks!
ReplyDeleteI love everything in the BM collection and need to restock my supply. I have been experimenting with other drugstore brands but really nothing compares!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome suggestions, and there is nothing more fun than new makeup for spring! I absolutely love the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, it's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to do more with my makeup, I feel like I am in a bit of a rut with it! I love all these picks!

Crumbs & Curls
I've been wondering how people like those chubby sticks.. Great round up!
ReplyDeleteI just ordered the Lorac Unzipped palette and it should be here today! Super excited to try it. And I loooooooove Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks. They are so versatile and fun!
ReplyDeleteI love all these pretty pinks. I know what you mean about being in a rut. I need to try out some new eyeshadows and lip colors! I love that Essie colors (and most of them, actually) but I'm not a huge fan of Essie polish. Everytime I buy it, I end up thinking it doesn't go on well! Then again I'm not the best nail polish-er this side of town ;)
ReplyDeleteI want to buy all of this just because it looks so pretty in your post. Ha!
