Wine & Dine

In our house, one of our favorite things to do is have friends and family over. Whether it's for an annual Thanksgiving party, to play the best card game out there, for a football game, or to just indulge in our favorite wines and catch up....we love spending time with the people we care about in the comfort of our own home (especially when the temps are cooler!).

As most of you know, I was adopted and have four sets of families. If anyone knows what a unique family arrangement is (a positive one at that!), it's me.

I feel blessed to have such a large, unique family in my life. Family is so important. I'm also a firm believer that your family doesn't have to be blood related...you hand pick some of your family and those would be the friends you choose to have in your life! Most of my friends I consider to be my family. I've had friends who I've known most of my life (and some who I randomly met via blog world) and we've been through it all together... that is family to me.

I recently had the opportunity to try a couple of the Gallo Family Vineyards wines (who else enjoys trying budget friendly wines? Gallo wines are only $5.00! Can't beat that): the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Chardonnay.

I also learned that they are a family-owned winery, which made me a big fan of them right off the bat.

 

 

I'm not normally a chardonnay type of gal (I prefer red most of the time), but I really like this one. It wasn't dry at all.

Gallo Family Vineyards just launched their pretty cool interactive microsite, called Crest Creator, that offers a way for you to create, share, and download personalized family crests for all the people you consider to be family.

So, what is this Crest Creator all about?

Basically, there are 17 different templates you can choose from and you can share them to your facebook or twitter or even download them for family events. Another perk is that because of the partnership that Gallo has with Zazzle.com, your crest can be printed for purchase on a variety of objects.

Think fun family gifts here! Labels for wine bottles for Christmas, invitations, coffee mugs (love this idea), luggage bags, t-shirts, housewarming party gifts, etc.
