or....how-to turn your weekend around when it seems like it's going to fail.
First things first. I hope all of you had an awesome weekend!
I would be lying if I said my weekend started off on the right foot. In fact, it started off pretttyyyyy bad. Real bad. To make a long story (and I mean really long) short, we traveled to Cleveland on Friday for a surprise birthday party for Billy's mom. The normal, easy 2 hour drive took us 5 hours (due to at least 3 different accidents including being at a dead stop for most of it) and we missed the entire surprise. Talk about terrible luck. We didn't get there until 9pm - exhausted, hungry, and disappointed but happy that we were finally out of that fricken car.
This is Rocky's best impression of how we felt...
On a positive note, Billy's mom was so surprised (so I heard-not.bitter) and the party was a lot of fun, you know, once we got there and were able to enjoy it!
Saturday....Saturday....a new day and was so much better.
+Billy's parents best friend took me on a motorcycle ride....
+I even got a chance to relax in my favorite room at their house to watch Shark Week (necessary) and take a nap....
+We ended the evening by sitting 3rd row at the Indians game!
Success...
Billy's parents best friend (same one with the motorcycle), Wayne and his family have tickets 3 rows behind the Indians dugout, so to say our seats were awesome is an understatement. They were amazing!
Definitely the best seats I've ever had at an MLB game, look at this view:
This was one of the longest and best fireworks show I've ever seen! It lasted about 30 minutes and the fireworks went around the whole stadium.
I even took a short video to show you....
Some of the best, right?!
and if you aren't into videos (but you should be! go watch it!), here's some of the firework show via pics!
Sunday. another happy day and we hit no traffic on our way home. I mean unless you call stopping at the outlet mall traffic..and I definitely don't. ;)
We took a bike ride in the morning and went to visit some horse (instant happiness) stables that are by Billy's parents neighborhood and Rocky got to meet his first horse. Actually, he met a bunch of them...
Sidenote: I will own a horse one day. It's going to happen.
I also found these awesome picture rail hooks to use for any upcoming house projects that we have. I know they will come in handy this Fall! Hint: We are getting back into some exciting projects in a couple month so stay tuned! :)
How was your weekend?
That stinks about missing the party! but hey at least the Indians won yesterday for you! :) PS - Rocky is too cute! Love his short summer cut!
ReplyDeleteOh a girl after my own heart! I would love a horse stable on a few acres. I am one of the crazy ones who loves that horse smell. I will just keep dreaming!! :)
ReplyDeleteoh those fireworks are amazing!!! and love that pic of the horse with your sweet pup, too cute.
ReplyDeleteMom and Boomer had traffic issues heading up north too! What's up with that? Glad your weekend wasn't all bad and that you made it everywhere safely!
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds awesome after the bumpy start.
ReplyDeleteThose seats were awesome! and loved the fireworks!!
i have total goosebumps seeing those pictures of Jacobs Field (Never can call it Progressive). Home sick now. Glad your weekend turned around!
ReplyDeleteI;m so sorry you missed the surprised, but glad you had fun and that your weekend was turned around. Those seats were awesome!!!!! I'm also a huge horse lover and was on the Equestrian Team in college. I want to own a horse someday too!! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry that your weekend got off to a crappy start.. traffic is so frustrating because there's nothing you can do :(
ReplyDeleteBut nothing says summer more than a baseball game... great seats!
Those fireworks are amazing! Also, love those horses! If I had it my way, I would have ten right now! Love them!
ReplyDeleteGlad your weekend at least ended well! I've never been able to get into shark week.
ReplyDeleteDespite that rough start, it looks like you had an amazing weekend! Jealous that you got such awesome seats at the stadium for the game and fireworks show!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you still had a great weekend! I love that picture of Rocky and the horse! Hemi would probably freak!
ReplyDeleteAwww.. I hate that you got stuck in the car. My fiance travels from Panama City, FL to Mobile, AL usually once or twice a day for his job and I am constantly on the other end of a text hearing about how traffic is at a standstill so I kind of feel your pain. At least you didn't show up just in time to ruin the surprise, you know like Adam Sandler did in the movie Big Daddy? Sorry, trying to make light of the situation. That's the same bike my Dad has.. isn't it a fun ride? And I love horses! I was a barn manager for awhile and I would get to ride at least four horses a day-- I could get lost in the barn, never wanting to leave. I bet Rocky felt like a shrimp compared to that Giant! My weekend stunk but I'm living vicariously through my favorite bloggers.. getting over a miscarriage is never fun but the sun is shining and I'm alive! Woot!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you had such a bad start to your weekend, but it sure does look like you were able to turn it around! Your outfit is so cute, as usual!
ReplyDeleteWow that baseball game looks awesome with the fireworks! Also, your napping area looks so awesome haha. Glad you turned around your weekend after a sucky Friday night :)
ReplyDeleteBummer that it took FOREVER to get there! But it looks like you made up for it! What a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteTraffic is such a buzzkill!! Bummer you missed the surprise but I bet she was still surprised when she got to see you guys!
ReplyDeleteTraffic drives me absolutely insane. I hate it, especially when you're heading somewhere fun! So happy to hear the rest of the weekend turned around. Seriously ballin' seats for the baseball game!
ReplyDeleteGlad your weekend improved! Things you can't control always make me the most upset. I love your nautical jacket, so cute!
ReplyDeleteAwesome game seats! And umm..yeah..with those windows..that would be my favorite room in their house too...glad you were still committed to Shark Week ;)
ReplyDeleteRocky looks like he did pretty well meeting a horse!!
ReplyDeleteWhen bad times go good... So glad it all worked out in the end :)

Stinks that it started off sort of on a bad foot but you eventually got to spend time with horses...I'd say that is a win for the weekend. I find horses to be incredibly beautiful animals. I'd love to find somewhere to ride again (I rode for a short time while I was a teenager)
ReplyDeleteThat room with the windows... amazing!! I have decided we need that room in our new house!! (and their amazing backyard!
ReplyDeleteBummer about the rough start, but what a fun weekend!
Looks like you had a fun weekend! Glad Saturday & Sunday made up for Friday night!
