Does anyone else dream about having locks like this?
{preferably ones that can look like that with minimal effort...}
Or is this just me?
Winter can do brutal things to your hair, especially if you have long hair like myself. I know that for me, whenever spring is approaching I like to get a fresh cut trim (since I'm a wuss and can't cut off more than just an inch or two) to make sure my hair is looking healthy again.
I found this short video about how to hide damaged hair extremely helpful.
Take a look....
(major hint hint: answer the question at the end of the video and you'll have a chance to win up to $250. Just sayin'!)
Have you ever thought of trying this?
Here's how I typically combat those damaged ends of mine from time to time
I use the 3 minute miracle in the shower at least once a week, the Dove oil care (love!) every other day before I blow dry, and just a simple comb to get the tangles out of my hair...
(comb will be used later for teasing too!)
then, I use this curling iron (from Sally's) to make large curls at the ends, as shown in the video.
I do this a lot when I'm in a rush and don't have time to really curl all of my hair!
A little trick (if you can call it this) I like to do to hide my damaged ends a little more is to wear it half up, half down. Why? Because if my ends are really dry, the one's at the top and in the front are usually the worst. By wearing your hair half up, those top/front pieces will be pulled back.

+use curling iron to give your hair body/style
+get a haircut every 4-6 weeks (even if it's just a trim!)
+use a deep conditioner once a week
+buy some Dove oil care..you'll love it. Trust me.
...also, make sure you are using a heat protection spray!
Welp. It looks like I need to buy some Dove hair oil. I like to use Bed Head After Party on my eneds to help smooth them after styling, if I'm wearing my hair straight. And of course curling makes it look tons better....but then that's more heat=fried, haha
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful hair, Katie! Love the 3 minute miracle! My hair always feels so good afterwards!
ReplyDeleteI need to get some of the 3 minute miracle! I LOOOOOVE my dove!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! My poor hair is such a disaster, I won't even tell you how long it's been since I got a cut! I FINALLY made an appointment and am debating if I should just chop it all off.
ReplyDeletelove your long locks! But I think you'd look cute with shorter hair too!!
Deletei need to try Dove hair oil! I have used the aussie stuff. you seriously have some gorgeous locks! I just snipped 4 inches off my hair!
ReplyDeletethank you :) I just got a few cut off mine too!
DeleteI might need to check out that Dove oil. I have such fine/thin hair that almost everything weighs it down and when living in the humid hole of Houston I do not need help with that! Thanks for the tips, I'll have to try them! Your hair is beautiful and I love the "poof"!
ReplyDeletethank you Christelle! The Dove doesn't weigh my hair down-try it! :)
DeleteLove all of these great tips, thank you so much for the ideas!! LOOOOVE!!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
thank you Jessica!
DeleteI use the Aussie 3-minute miracle AND that dove detangler, too! They both work wonders on my long hair and I'm pretty much damage-free at this point! I trim my own split ends at home and that works wonders, too!
ReplyDeleteMy hair is too thick and curly to do ANYTHING with. I either can wear it like the frazzled mess it is, or straighten it with a flatiron. Blow-drying flat takes over an hour, I can't curl it when it's curly, and if I curl it after straightening it falls out. I cannot win!
ReplyDeleteI use the same Aussie product 1-2 times per week too. It's the best and so cheap!
ReplyDeleteSuch a better option than cutting all my hair off when I think the ends are bad! Haha thanks for the product tips!! Definitely trying :)
ReplyDeleteI know what I'll be buying on my next target trip! thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips!

I swear by Its A 10 conditioning treatment...highly recommend it! Thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteLooooove 3 minute miracle. When I had long hair I swore by it. It's a little harder to "hide" dry hair now that I've chopped it off, but I do use bobby pins to pull back and try to hide the parts that are uck.
ReplyDeleteLove the Dove oil spray! I wish I could curl my hair as quickly as the girl in that video...I have TONS of hair!
ReplyDeleteThis couldn't have come at a better time. My hair took a beating this winter. Have been doing hair masks like it's my job to try and fix the ends. Will be trying both for sure! Thanks, girlie!
ReplyDeleteI was JUST telling my mom how dry my hair feels all of the sudden... I haven't tried the Dove oil. I may have to look into that... and a trim, it's embarrassing how long it's been since I've had one. Ooops!
ReplyDeletethank u for the tips, I'll try that. I use pro naturals moroccan argan oil which helps to repair the damaged hair and keeps it soft and healthy. :D
ReplyDeleteAfter watching that video where that girl burnt her hair off with the wand I'm petrified of them! These are great tips, it helps that you have gorgeous hair!
ReplyDeleteCan I just come spend some time with you and have you fix my hair every day? That makes total sense right?! So happy Alexa told you about our love for you and Steph's love... This blog world is just so much more than I ever expected. Hope you have a great weekend pretty lady!
ReplyDeletegood tips! thanks, I am off to get the Dove oil.
