This week I decided to make homemade dog treats for the other man in my life....
Rocky. Our little fur child.
(just WAIT until you see the hilarious last pic of him below...)
"Did you say treats? Don't even tease me..."
Ps-Do you see the print right behind him? Looks familiar. ha!
I figured it's only fair that he has some yummy treats for Valentine's Day as well.
My 'pinspiration' came from this recipe because it uses few ingredients
and you can use mostly organic products.
What You Need:
2 tablespoons canola oil
1/2 cup organic or all-natural peanut butter
1 cup water
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups white flour
3 tablespoons unsalted peanuts, chopped (I didn't use this much)
dog bone cookie cutter (I got ours from Meijer for $1)
How To Make Them:
+Preheat oven to 350.
+In a large bowl combine, oil, peanut butter, and water.
Add both types of flour and work the dough together.
+Wrap in plastic and let it sit for 30 minutes.
+Knead dough into firm ball and roll into 1/4" thickness.
+Use a bone cookie cutter to cut out small bones.
+Place on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet, sprinkle with peanuts, and press them lightly into the bones.
+Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Store in a jar with a tight lid.
Pretty sure Rocky ate one of these bones in less than 30 seconds...
Nom Nom Nom...
