{say hello to my 4th of july flag fruit kabobs. So easy to make!}
When our Texas plans flopped and we knew we weren't heading to Cleveland until Thursday night, the first thing Billy and I did was call our closest friends to plan a 4th of July cookout. I know that, for us, booze, friends, good food, and fireworks could definitely lift our spirits and it did!
We went to our friends house for a cookout and then headed to our high school where they always have a huge 4th of July party and fireworks. I don't care how many times I hear Proud To Be An American, it will always be my favorite song to hear during the fireworks.

My day was also made when I came home to find brand new arm candy
from StyleLoveLiving in our mailbox...
I added this beautiful anchor bracelet and chevron bangles with my watch
and ADORE them. It is probably my favorite combination to wear right now and they are quickly becoming my favorite jewelry shop.

We also decided to go kayaking for a few hours during the day.
Billy absolutely loves to kayak, and our friend Mike wanted to go as well, so us 3 drove to the river and got on our way. I lasted for about an hour (in the wind), and then Billy came up with an amazing invention I like to call being lazy "operation relaxation". Operation relaxation consisted of him tying one of the life jackets up to my kayak from his, essentially so that I didn't have to paddle, and I could just sit back and watch the boys kayak. I've said it before and I'll say it again...a good, good man.
Don't mind if I do..
Even with the circumstances, we still had an amazing 4th of July with our friends and family. On Thursday night, we headed up to Cleveland a little early and went to brand new Horseshoe Casino downtown! The casino is MASSIVE and has three levels. It was so much fun, even if I didn't walk out of it a multi-millionaire.
Hope you all had an awesome holiday weekend, too!
