Tomorrow morning kicks off the opening of my favorite local Farmers Market!
As a hardcore 'foodie', there's not much I love more than getting up early on Saturday morning with the sun shining and going to the farmers market. I love walking around with Billy and seeing all the different tables offering veggies, fruit, cheese, candy, meat (for the hubby now), flowers, bread, etc. and picking up my favorite items for the week.
I love being able to support our local farmers and everyone is always so friendly.
Here are some pictures from the market I go to.
For those of you who haven't explored your own local farmers market in the summer - I highly recommend it! Make sure you bring cash as a lot of the stands don't take credit cards and a couple bags to carry what you buy (because you WILL end up buying things!).
What are your favorite things to buy from your local Farmers Market?
-I love buying peppers, spicy kinds of cheese (YUM), corn, apple pie (I'll take 2 please)...alright, I love it alland sometimes want to trample the people that get there before me.

Before I go, here's a new green smoothie recipe I found.
Don't be afraid of the GREENS! Give it a try :)
Kale, Spinach, and Pear Smoothie:
-1 cup spinach leaves
-1 cup chopped kale leaves
-1/2 pear
-1 frozen banana
-1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
-1 tbls honey
*Pull off kale leaves from center and rip into small pieces. In blender - combine kale, spinach, and milk. Blend until no kale bits remain. Add banana, honey, and pear. Blend until smooth*
Have a good weekend!!

I love farmers markets. Seriously, they are the highlight of Summer. I love buying local honey and fresh baked bread the most (our produce isn;t the best where we live because we are in the mountains) but if I'm in California, I buy tons of produce.

ReplyDeleteBy the way, I'm giving away a heel condom on my blog. Don't let the name fool you. It's an amazing accessory that will spice up and transform any heel! Go to www.l0vlindsey.com to enter!
